A large pool of human resource exists in the form of researchers/scientists/faculty in medical colleges and teaching hospitals to carry out quality research. It is well known that the existing quality of the research undertaken by post graduate trainees and PhD scholars is to be improved. There is enough evidence to support the urgent need to offer training in research methodology and help support the development of research methodology curricula on regional and national levels to advance the state of research in medical education. To harness the potential of the existing pool, capacity building in research methodology is imperative and should be are recognised priority. In this regards, the Certificate Course in Clinical Research Methods for Diplomate of National Board (DNB) students offered through a distance learning mode will be less intensive and more realistic for achieving educational goals.
