Nayan Chakravarty is Masters in Public Health (MSc Public Health) from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) London, in Health System Management Stream. He is also has a Master’s in Rural Management (PGDRM) from Xavier’s Institute of Social Services (XISS) Ranchi, with specialization in Project Management (1999-2001) before his Graduation in Agriculture from Assam Agricultural University (BSc Agriculture, 1999).
He is a recipient of Welcome Trust Fellowship which supported him to undertake his MSc in Public Health from LSHTM, London.
He has been working in the arena of public health for more than a decade with various national, international organizations and Ministry of Health. He is a state level Task Force member and played an important role in formulation of ICDS IV on behalf of Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of Maharashtra. He is an expert in Project Management and was involved as a trainer, training various government and non-governmental participants. His earlier job responsibility has been in Program Management, advocacy, managing Government Partnership along with commodity management. He also has good understanding regarding livelihood related issues in India while working in more than 9 different states across India.
He is currently working as an Assistant Professor with Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Bhubaneswar and is module coordinator of Logistic planning and Drug distribution along with teaching Project Management and Health Policy. He is actively involved in various academic and administrative activities. He is also a student advisor for dissertation projects in the PGDPHM course at IIPH Bhubaneswar and involved in research activites ranging from human resource for health and retention study.

His areas of interests are Project Management, Nutrition, health policy, supply chain management and Road Traffic Injuries (RTI).
