Dr Habib Hasan is a physician and an epidemiologist by training. He has earned his MD from Banaras Hindu University, India and has undergone further trainings at Department of International Health, Boston University in Pedagogy and for Transparency and Accountability Programme at World Bank, Washington, USA. He is also trained as an AusAID-ALA Fellow at Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney under Short Intensive Professional Programme in HIV.
Currently he is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi. He has six years of teaching and research experience in various capacities. He is proficient at quantitative data analysis using statistical software’s like SPSS, SYSTAT, NCSS and Epi-info.
His current job responsibilities include teaching, research and training especially in Epidemiology, Health Financing and Pharmaceutical Economics. He is a member of team developing educational interventions for human work force capacity building through distance education and short term trainings in Diabetes and Epidemiology.
He has also been conferred awards and research scholarships to make research presentations at various national and international conferences and have peer reviewed research publication in indexed medical journals.
Prior to joining PHFI he worked as Assistant Professor at G R Medical College, MP, India, where as a co-supervisor for a doctoral candidate he earned NACO Fellowship for HIV Research. He has also worked as Consultant for WHO-SEARO where his primary responsibility was to provide technical and logistic assistance for Health System Strengthening to Government of UP especially for Immunization and Surveillance.
